Wallaitiyoon Ka Pakistan

Last few days their has been quite tragic stories reported in pothwar.com but two of them were most horrific in sense of their background and consequences.

These incidents are more of our interest as they happened in Pakistan with us, foreigners, although we think of us as Pakistanis but they think of us as wallaitis ( British Pakistani) as a foreigners.

The two incidents which have been major headlines are the horrific murder of Ashiq Hussain of Wakefield and village Mandhal and the the other one of Amin Raja of Bradford and Islam purra Jabber. We can mention more murders of similar cases but will concentrate on these two recent cases.

Background to both of these cases is that Ashiq Hussain and Raja Amin were murdered because of matrimonial, land dispute and both time the allegations have been put on immediate family members in Pakistan.

It is interesting that most of the people are criticising the politicians for creating such a environment in the country that no one is safe any more and some are blaming the corrupt police for not fulfilling their duties, fact is since independence of Pakistan both of these institution have been almost the same in corruption and getting worse, but in these two cases you can not blame police or the politicians but one thing is fact that both of these murderers were committed against British Pakistani or Wallaitiye as they call them in Pakistan and they both were murdered after refusal of rishta or trying to arrange marriage of their children out side family.

It is interesting that they had spent seven hundred pounds to fly to Pakistan and taking present for the families and even forced their children to marry in their loved one families. But either they could not find appropriate rishta in the family or the children refused for which they had pay with their lives and such a horrific death because the refusal of rishta all life plans in regards to get hold on everything that they owned was thrown out of the window.

It is very important for the people living abroad to understand that Pakistan has changed a lot since they have immigrated over 40 years ago. Some people in Pakistan now are committed to either come to England after marriage or taking over land and all your belongings back home. In most cases the head of family mother or father are used to force the rishta of their grand child to their son or daughter family living abroad. Although for parents living in Pakistan should consider their children either living abroad or Pakistan the same way but unfortunately they think children living abroad as second party, which makes the case worse rather than parents playing a mediator.

In many incidents it happened to lots of families that i am aware of, and these two murders are clear example of it. Some people more cleverly refuse rishta over the phone to family in Pakistan and are made to suffer by loosing their land, belonging and some time even parents. While living abroad they never get to understand that how come the person looking after the land becomes the land lord,  or if they have bought land in city the land had been sold few times after they had bought it.

In a recent visit by a very senior politician and government official I described the situation in regards to  British Pakistani facing land dispute, what they should do, he told me that British Pakistanis should forget about any legal action, the reason is it will take many years in courts and it will not be resolved, in these cases you are dealing with goons and only people who could deal with these, is to hire few goons and get your possessions back.

I think the situation is frightening and people living abroad should be extremely careful and not to put their heads in sand and hope for the best, these murders highlight our position in Pakistan. Here are few points which i think should be taken in notice.

1- Once and forever make a decision where do you wish to live. Either go and live permanently in Pakistan or if you have come to settle in your new home then do make visit back home but forget dreaming about which is never going to happen,  that you will go back one day permanently. With this you will be able to save lots of money from buying disputed lands, bungalows in Islamabad, maintaining the property and maintaining the life of people who are looking after you property.

2- If you have extra cash then spend on charity work, believe me their are lot of poor people who need help, Your family back home have made enough cash/ property from you and they do not need your money anymore only thing they want from you is rishta.

3- Work hard with your children and give them the love you have been giving to your family back home, they are your own blood they just need love from you and dont deal with their lives.

4- All you husbands and wives who have spent lifetime fighting with each other for their nieces and nephews. It is about time that you sit together and make plan to find that love in your own house which you have been craving for years and rushing back home to get it.

5- Give the right of choice to your children if they wish to get married to a Muslim regardless of that Muslim person where he is from, by giving them the right of choice it might be possible the children give your right. You must stop force marriages it is better to have Muslim than to have none Muslim spouse for your child.

6- Please come out of trap of fake love which suddenly wakes up after 3/4 years,  when you visit back home and hibernates like a hedgehog until next time,  and come to real world. When ever you make call back home the answer always is we were thinking to phone you but it never happens. There is saying that love is always there we you are, you just need to look around your self. For god sake it is time to change your priorities,  your Pakistan is here, whether it is our politicians Mr President or our Pir......

THEN WHY NOT YOU ????
